Architecturally, Messe Stuttgart has become a true gem. The ten aesthetically appealing exhibition halls impress with their flexible use of space, offering ample opportunities for individual room design. Thanks to their advanced technologies, the buildings can be reconfigured precisely to suit any occasion. Comfort is a top priority at Messe Stuttgart, starting with advice on choosing the right location. In addition, following its relocation, Messe Stuttgart — with its exhibition grounds now covering 120,000 m2 — has moved up to eighth place nationwide, joining Germany’s top ten.

Messe Stuttgart represents a powerful economic region, is of global importance with its numerous leading trade fairs such as CMT, R+T, Vision, Retro Classics and LogiMat, and pursues a visionary ambition. Another advantage of the new exhibition grounds lies in their almost perfect accessibility: the Neue Messe is located directly at the airport and the motorway and has its own railway station, which offers additional incentives for international visitors as well.

What sets Messe Stuttgart apart

Visitors can expect every conceivable comfort in the modern exhibition halls. The venue features streaming studios and a 5G connection. During exhibitions, guests can orient themselves at selected stations via info points, use QR codes to unlock additional product information, or dive deeper into the action with VR technology. The robots bustling around the exhibition grounds are not only extremely helpful but also a spectacle in their own right. Thanks to air conditioning, a comfortable temperature prevails indoors even in extreme weather.

The exhibition grounds radiate a powerful aesthetic, shaped by the architectural design of the exhibition halls with their curved roofs and the idyllic trade fair park. For its convincing ecological concept, the Stuttgart venue was awarded the German Environmental Prize 2024. It systematically supplies itself with green electricity using 30,000 m2 of solar collectors.

The jurors were equally impressed by the light-flooded exhibition halls, energy-efficient water management, an economical air-conditioning system and numerous recycling islands on the exhibition grounds — especially as the internationally well-connected operator supports numerous eco projects.

The exhibition grounds – modern, flexible, beautiful

In its compact form, Messe Stuttgart is a trade fair of short distances. The organizer’s innovative idea was to position the ten exhibition buildings so that the two rows of five exhibition halls each almost touch at the beginning, then drift steadily apart. This created an open space in the shape of a triangle, beautifully filled by the Rothauspark.

With its green inner courtyard, the trade fair park is an oasis of calm that knows how to delight with its sights. These include a piazza and the Teinacher Kaskaden – an artificial waterfall with an adjoining restaurant. With its curved shape, the atrium at the entrance to the trade fair park is an eye-catcher and offers a full range of services. Visually, the ten exhibition halls with their curved roofs blend harmoniously into the fertile Filder landscape, whose dried-fruit orchards send out their enticing scents from afar.

Seven of the ten exhibition halls have a size of 10,500 m2. The most modern is the Paul-Horn-Halle, built as recently as 2018, with a capacity of 14,600 m2, which stands out from the other halls with its striking shape and wooden cladding. The largest hall, and the one best suited for major events, is the L-Bank Forum with a capacity of 26,400 m2 and a grandstand for 15,000 spectators. The main building, the International Congresscenter Stuttgart (ICS), also offers a large grandstand. It is a multifunctional building whose flexible wall system can connect or separate the 33 rooms as required.

Another landmark of the Stuttgart trade fair is the Robert-Bosch-Parkhaus, which winds its way across the motorway like a serpent and is adorned with the Bosch logo, one of the largest illuminated advertisements in the world. With 15,000 parking spaces, the organizers may almost have been too generous. Critics note that even at major events, the occupancy of the car park does not even reach ten percent. On the other hand, worrying about finding a free parking space is a thing of the past.

The most important leading global trade fairs at Messe Stuttgart

With around 160 trade fairs a year, there is always something going on at the exhibition grounds. Many of the events are leading trade fairs of international importance. In our overview, we would like to focus on the following:

KREATIV

At KREATIV, crafters, home improvers and other DIY enthusiasts come into their own and can pick up new ideas and tools for their next works of art. A colorful supporting program and many hands-on activities for creative work spark the imagination.

  • The next KREATIV takes place from 19 to 22 November 2026.

CMT

The Caravan – Motor – Touristik is the world’s leading trade fair for holidaymakers. 234,000 visitors came to the last edition alone. Here, visitors can find inspiration in the latest travel trends, discover exciting holiday destinations and get swept up in the holiday mood amid plenty of folklore.

  • The CMT takes place annually in mid-January — current dates on the organizer’s website.

Retro Classics Stuttgart

On one topic, avowed classic car fans agree: cars used to have character. During the Retro Classics, cars from bygone eras take center stage. On display are youngtimers, classic cars and other bodywork from days gone by, while a special show brings particular topics to the table.

  • The Retro Classics Stuttgart takes place annually in late February/early March — current dates on the organizer’s website.

LogiMat

As the world’s leading trade fair for intralogistics solutions and process management, it is where decision-makers learn in congresses how modern management and distribution solutions are brought to life. This knowledge gives them an important competitive advantage.

  • The LogiMat takes place annually in March — current dates on the organizer’s website.

Control

When products are sold, they have to work. Otherwise, the damage to a company’s reputation can be devastating. Good quality management is important, both to establish this reliability and to certify it as a seal of quality. At Control, quality managers can find out about analysis devices, measuring technologies, material testing, QA systems and optoelectronics, and engage in dialogue with one another.

  • The Control takes place annually in May — current dates on the organizer’s website.
